Draw much attention to yourself...

Welcome to HUMP day!
Let's look at the week.
Monday-we spend all day catching up,
and then trying to plan our week.
Tuesday-recovery from a hard Monday.
Wednesday-Hump Day,
only two days till the weekend.
Thursday-planning out what we will
accomplish the rest of the week.
Friday-planning our weekend, oh
and tying up loose ends
at work so we don't have to
spend our weekend working.
So we get excited about the little things.
Are we "working for the weekend"?
Find a way to make your job fun!
Time will go by much quicker.
You ever watched your time clock?
Just waiting for 3 o'clock?
The last 30  minutes take 2 hours.
Focus on your task at hand.
Keep your head right.
Have a great attitude today!
Have an even better day off.

Smiles....

What a smile...
You know it seems funny,
In the car business and in life
there are people that just can't seem to get it.
When it is sunny the car salesman say,
"people are working in
their yards or at the lake",
it is too nice outside,
we are not going to be busy.
This is the same guy that say,
"it is raining out",
we are not going to be busy.
If this were true we would never sell cars....
Look at the day as an opportunity..
Look for the challenges
and have fun overcoming them.
It truly is about attitude.
Have a great smile today.
Meet the challenge.

Have you ever been here...

So, we are on a roll.
Everything is going great.
We get excited and want to
reward ourselves.
If you doing well on a diet,
we get a free day...
You know where I am going with this.
We do it in all parts of our life.
Be careful, when you work hard
and make progress that you
don't give it away.
You should reward yourself,
but try not to go backwards.
Make the reward about
something important.
What happens to your
attitude when we mess up?
Keep your head right and
your life will be right.
Have a great attitude this week!
Finish your end of month
strong my car friends.

Sunday funny for-Jason Burger

This is a great picture of a wedding party.
I see Batman, Ironman, Robin, Captain America just to mention a few...
The caption says it all.
I told my friends to "dress up" for the wedding.
Well you got what you ask for,
which leads me to todays topic.
Be careful what you ask for,
you just might get it.
These people clearly "dressed up"
for an occasion.
Just not exactly what the groom may
have had in mind.
Have you ever ask for something and got it
only to realize you may have not
been specific enough?
It happens all the time.
Choose your words carefully when
you talk to people.
Your selling cars, and you want a loaded car.
What does that mean to you?
Have a great Sunday,
and a great attitude this week.
Jason, congratulations
on your upcoming wedding!

Which came first the chicken or the egg...

I always like a new twist on an old saying.
Times they are a changin'.
How receptive are you to change?
Does it affect your attitude?
Do you question everything?
And if you do question everything,
do you do it in the right spirit?
"The only constant in the world is change".
Keep your head right and change will be good.
Have a great weekend,
and a great attitude this coming week!

Be happy

At the end of the day,
when the sun goes down.
You are going to have to deal with the
choices you have made.
So above all, what ever you feel.
Be Happy by Being yourself!
If your days are spent worrying
about pleasing others the burden will get
heavier as time move on.
So think long term,
what is it that would be best for me
and my family long term?
Small decisions lead to large decisions.
Decisions lead to commitments.
Commit to yourself.
Have a great attitude today!

Bad Words and Bad Mood

Once again we talk about the words we speak.
This topic comes up on a regular basis.
It is so easy to overlook, but the simple words once spoken can never really be erased.
Hurtful or helpful.
So if your in a bad mood,
guard your words with caution.
You have to start sometime, don't wait till it is too late and you have trashed a long term relationship by saying the wrong thing.
Remember what is in your mind expands.
Be aware, the words are on your tongue.
Have a great attitude today!

My Hometown 1971

We all have a hometown, and for most of us there is no other feeling like driving Main Street and seeing the changes.
Above is my hometown, Elkhart Indiana 1971.  There is the McDonald's, and Azar's.  Just across the street used to be a sporting good store.  Many of these buildings have changed names.  Azar's is gong, but McDonald's is still going strong.
Did we all want to get away when we were younger?  Now I look back and wonder why?
I have traveled the world but still love my hometown.  There is no place like it.
My attitude has changed a bit, with grey hair comes wisdom.
Have a great attitude, and enjoy your hometown!

The Bee Attitudes

Saw this at the Farmer's Market in Plano Texas this morning.
Bee-Busy...doing what you love to do.
Bee true... to the dreams God's given to you.
Bee Sure... to taste the sweetness of each day.
Bee Silly... giggle lots. take off and play.
Bee Bold... enough to trust your wings and fly.
Bee Lieve... the power of prayer will get you there.
Bee Happy... keep your outlook bright.
Bee Yourself...

Ok, a little odd, but you get the hint!
Have a great attitude today!

Love the challenge

What is your challenge today?
Not only what is your challenge,
what is your attitude towards your challenge?
My belief is that you should have some challenges every day!
I don't mean struggles or battles, just something to make you breathe a little harder then if you were sitting on the couch.
Think about it, if you challenge yourself just a little every day, over time it will make a much larger difference in your outcome.
Think about the pitch of a roof,
in one foot it may only rise 3 inches, but st reach that out 20 feet and it may rise 60 inches or 5 foot.  It started out as inches.
Same thing happens when we face challenges and we change our attitude.
If we are positive over a period of time we will get more good results and things will get better and better and better.
So challenge yourself today to have a good attitude about something small.
Keep that mind set, and watch the
changes over time.
Have a great week!

Progress

Always celebrate moving forward.
When training sales consultats we tell them their job is to move the customer through the process.  It takes time to learn..
Be excited when you move forward.
Don't be anxious, or cut corners
trying to get there.
What about with life, sometimes we
go through a difficult time.
Cut yourself some slack, take small steps.
It takes time!
Take steps with the right attitude,
and don't look back.
Looking back slows you down.
Celebrate your progress no matter how small..

You learn from failure

What a great week!
Jack Sparrow and now George Clooney.
How true is it that we learn not from our successes but from our failures.
So for me to call them failures it a bit harsh.  We could look at them like Albert E and say they were just opportunities to learn from.
I am good with that!
That being said, I should be a very smart man.
The errors and leaning I have done over the years.....
I guess it is in the attitude.
Have a great attitude today!

If you don't make decisions than
things are going to happen to you
and you have no control.
If you make decisions you have more control.
With the right attitude you will
make better decisions.
But even if you make good decisions it does not mean that nothing bad will happen to you.
Bottom line is Not making a decision
is making a decision.
So when you make decisions,
think of how it will affect you
down the road.
Have a great attitude today!
and make good

You are responsible for your choices

Take responsibility for your actions.
Good or Bad it is on you.
Actions are lessons that we should learn
from every day as we age.
How many people choose to make bad decisions
and then want to blame other people or circumstances for the outcome.
When we are children it is easier to
gain forgiveness, once we are an
 adult we should know better.
Take the attitude that you are responsible
 for your actions.
Make choices like there are consequences, because there will always be effects from your decisions.  So choose wisely.
Have a great attitude today!

Jack Sparrow says it well

Well you can get good
information from anyone!
Captain Jack says it very well,
It is not so much the problem,
but your attitude toward the problem.
90% Versus 10%
Make a good choice,
and have a good attitude today!

Your Attitude

Sometimes I don't need to explain!
Have a great attitude today...

Our success depends on our attitude

Our success depends on our attitude.
Chuck Swindell says life is
10% what happens to us and
90% our attitude.
So if I understand right,
attitude can mean choice.
The choice we make right after one of "those"
things happens to us.
So again, understanding, I can choose
how I react, and help lead the outcome.
I hope you are able to have some
adventures this week!
Make it fun, and have a great attitude!

Blanca - Life give you gifts

"Blanca"
I wanted to dedicate a post to
something very personal to me.
Anyone that has read my
blog, or knows me personally knows
the love I have for my pups.
The days are winding down for
my little Blanca.
She is getting close to 18 years old.
She really is my little buddy.
We are just trying to make her comfortable
and keep her as long as we can.
I am struggling to make the decision
that I know is coming.
Now, I do not want you to be Simpathetic.
I do not need for you to feel like I do.
I would ask you to be empathic,
and understand how I might feel.
I never thought I would get attached to her.
She was a funny looking little puppy
when she was a couple months old.
But as time went on we have
become quite a close.
Life is full of gifts.
Look around every day and accept those gifts.
It is so easy for time to go by and we lose
something near and dear to your heart.
Take it all in, and enjoy that gift each day.
It may be a person, or a pet.
If you spend every day it will be
difficult when you loose them.
It will truly be a sad day when we loose her.
Have the right attitude today!

What a face!

You have a glass, right!

Half full, half empty!
Didn't we all have days when we were
growing up it would have just
been nice just to have a glass?
I'm not sure how you grew up,
but that was my childhood.
As an adult it has made me
appreciate what I have!
How is your glass?
What is in your glass?
Can you empty your glass if it is
full of something bad?
How do you do that?
It takes time, quite simply it is a
choice that you have to make.
What you put in your brain expands.
You want to be happy,
fill your brain with happy things!
You did not become miserable overnight,
I do it all the time.
Think about it, we all have choices.
Oh I know some of you are saying
 "I really don't",
but you do.
So it might take a little time of thinking right.
So stop watching the news last thing at night, and first thing in the morning..
The news if full of negative stuff...
Read something positive instead, my blog, a book, something you like...
Have a great day, and a Great Attitude!

What a change of thinking.
How many times have heard just think
outside of the box.
I like fresh thinking "get rid of the box".
Too many times we assume there are guidelines we must stay with-in.
The great inventors have always gotten
rid of the box.
In many cases people thought the inventors were a "little off" to say the least.
Fly-What do you mean fly...  Or go to the moon...  Or run a sub 4 minute mile...
All unbelievable feats, all seemingly untouchable 100 years ago.
I now fly on a weekly basis, we have a moon station, and there are high school students
running 4 minute miles...
So challenge yourself, get rid of the box.
If you sell cars, you can close more than 20%, truth is you can close what you believe you can.
Here are a few facts for car guys:
Customers shop on average
1.4  Dealers before buying.
According to NADA 76% of shoppers
 want to buy a car.
According to JD Powers/Cobalt Survey 85% of shoppers leave their house wanting to take delivery that day.
And by using a simple Bell Curve we could see 70-80% Opportunity.
A good attitude and the right vision will carry you miles ahead of your competition!
Have a great day and a great attitude.

True Character

I use vision in most of my training classes and it sounds like this.  Would you do anything different each day if you had a video strapped to your head.
The video would tape everything you do and say and your spouse, friends, family and Managers would watch it each evening?  would you do anything different?
Some people say there is always someone watching-God or someone with an iPhone.
Would you do anything different?
As a young man a consultant offered that question to me.  Sam Jones, he changed my life.
I realized that it did not matter
 if someone else was watching,
I was now aware that I was watching.
I gained a higher level of respect for myself.
So ask yourself that question,
Would you do anything different?
Have a great attitude, it is your choice.

Believe

Do you ever find it funny that people that are too positive, or have too good of an attitude are thought to be strange, or a little off..
From time to time I get the question, do you really believe all this positive attitude stuff.
Or friends will get my wife off to the side and ask, does he really believe all
that stuff he writes.
Lucky for me, my wife always laughs and says "yes" he does believe.  Why wouldn't he?
I always talk about a choice.
I used to make a lot of bad choices every day!
There was always a little voice telling me
that there is something better.
Just make better choices and believe things will be better...
Now that could have been God, not sure.
What I am sure of is life is so much better with a positive attitude and I want to share that with anyone that will listen.
At this point my blog is reaching 1,000 viewers a week.  At some point I can envision hitting 100,000 page views.  You see it is not about me.
You can have money and not be happy!
How do you feel when you share with someone, and they get a smile?
It is a great feeling.
I get emails from time to time that thank me.
That is what I do it for!
Have a great attitude, and share a smile..

Some things don't turn out the way it was planned

Have you ever started a journey only to find that you ended up somewhere else, somewhere even better?  Do you think that is what happened with the iPhone?
Think about it, we all call them phones.
Yet, you can do an awful lot from your phone now! It always amazes me when you begin to think about specific things,
they expand in your mind.
Try this just for a week.
Pick something that is easy for you to monitor.
Maybe you sell cars, or bought a car,
or just think of a car.
Lets just say you picked Dodge Journey.
Do you see many of them on the road?
Now every morning I want you to watch just for Journeys on the road.
You will see more that you can imagine.
Just for giggles-try it.
Then imagine if you could do it with something important with your family, or work?
What about having a great attitude.
It takes work to have a great attitude every day, but it is worth it.
Have a great attitude today!

If life were this simple

Sometimes we just wish for easier days!
Think about these few words,
"if it makes you happy, do it".
How simple is that, with the exception of life happening all around you.
So now there are challenges to contend with!
Well, HUH!
Well the truth has always been,
we can't control the world around us,
but we can control our attitude.
We know we have to take out the trash,
just do it!
So you can get back to the things that you really want to do!
Sometimes we let that little chore mess up the rest of our day....
It is your attitude!
Have a great week, and a great attitude!

What would your song be?

It is Sunday morning as I am getting ready
for my bike ride I am wondering what my
theme song would sound like?
"I'm in a hurry to get things done", "Theme song from Rockie", or the "Eye of the Tiger"(another Rocky song).  Maybe it is a song of life such a "If I could save time in a bottle", or "Piano Man".
Part of  this thought is what legacy
will be left behind?
Would your song be one that your proud of?
Would it be a song of strong nature?
A song showing a good attitude?
A Song of Strength?
If you know me, comment on the song
that might fit my life.
I want to leave a good message for my legacy.
Have a great Sunday,
and a Great Attitude this week!

What does your picture look like?

Picture this, your on the 6th floor
over looking the beach!
Now that just sounds relaxing, doesn't it?
As I look outside at the sweltering 106
degree temperatures in Dallas Texas today
I wonder how much more
I would enjoy the beach.
Maybe not today, but tonight...
I saw this picture and it is just one more reminder of why we work the way we do.
What does your picture look like?
Have a great attitude today!

Don't let your ego win!

This may not work for family matters. Remember these few words
when dealing with customers:

Some will, Some won't
Some do, Some don't
So what, Who's next?

If you lose a sale and things
just don't work out move on...

Get your head right for the next opportunity.

Have a great attitude today!

Statue of Liberty

Statue of Liberty

The Statue of Liberty (Liberty Enlightening the World; French: La Liberté éclairant le monde) is a colossal neoclassical sculpture on Liberty Island in the middle of New York Harbor, in Manhattan, New York City. The statue, designed by Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi and dedicated on October 28, 1886, was a gift to the United States from the people of France. The statue is of a robed female figure representing Libertas, the Roman goddess of freedom, who bears a torch and a tabula ansata (a tablet evoking the law) upon which is inscribed the date of the American Declaration of Independence, July 4, 1776. A broken chain lies at her feet. The statue is an icon of freedom and of the United States: a welcoming signal to immigrants arriving from abroad.
Bartholdi was inspired by French law professor and politician Édouard René de Laboulaye, who commented in 1865 that any monument raised to American independence would properly be a joint project of the French and American peoples. Due to the troubled political situation in France, work on the statue did not commence until the early 1870s. In 1875, Laboulaye proposed that the French finance the statue and the Americans provide the site and build the pedestal. Bartholdi completed the head and the torch-bearing arm before the statue was fully designed, and these pieces were exhibited for publicity at international expositions.
The torch-bearing arm displayed at the Centennial Exposition in 1876 and in New York's Madison Square Park from 1876 to 1882. Fundraising proved difficult, especially for the Americans, and by 1885 work on the pedestal was threatened due to lack of funds. Publisher Joseph Pulitzer of the World started a drive for donations to complete the project that attracted more than 120,000 contributors, most of whom gave less than a dollar. The statue was constructed in France, shipped overseas in crates, and assembled on the completed pedestal on what was then called Bedloe's Island. The statue's completion was marked by New York's first ticker-tape parade and a dedication ceremony presided over by President Grover Cleveland.
The statue was administered by the United States Lighthouse Board until 1901 and then by the Department of War; since 1933 it has been maintained by the National Park Service. The statue was closed for renovation for much of 1938. In the early 1980s, it was found to have deteriorated to such an extent that a major restoration was required. While the statue was closed from 1984 to 1986, the torch and a large part of the internal structure were replaced.
After the September 11 attacks in 2001, it was closed for reasons of safety and security; the pedestal reopened in 2004 and the statue in 2009, with limits on the number of visitors allowed to ascend to the crown. The statue, including the pedestal and base, was closed for a year until October 28, 2012, so that a secondary staircase and other safety features could be installed; Liberty Island remained open. However, one day after the reopening, Liberty Island closed due to the effects of Hurricane Sandy, and the island remains off limits to the public. Public access to the balcony surrounding the torch has been barred for safety reasons since 1916. The statue will reopen to the public by July 4, 2013

Pride is High

I hope that everyone is proud of their country!
This blog has been read around the world. Please comment on your country.
Where are you from and why are you proud?
The U.S.A. has always been about freedom.
I may not agree with all the freedoms that we have, but that is the greatness.
It is not about me!
