Our aging friends

Do  your pets make your house a home? Do they add to the warmth on those cold rainy days? As I watch my Jake age, he is 14 years old, it causes me to pause and just be thankful for the days he gives back to the family. It is my responsibility to make sure his needs are fullfilled. It is also my responsibility to keep him from pain. I just hope that I am as good an owner as he is a puppy.
We lost our dear Blanca almost a year ago when she was 18. We still feel her presence in the house. Rarely a day goes by that we don't speak of her. I believed she loved us with her whole little heart. I hope she knows the love we had and still have for her.

Smarter than we thought

Just how smart is your pet?
Sometimes it is like they can read your mind.  What does your pet do when you have had a bad day? Does he try to comfort you? They know when it is time to eat, sleep and who to beg for snacks. How long is their memory?
Leave me a note about your best pet story.

Walking the dog

I was reminded once again how
little time we get with our
loved pets.
A friend lost a puppy.
Bailey was 14.
I know he was loved.
It is always sad for me
to read these stories.
What is the right thing
to say at that time?
Is there a right thing to say?
My Jake is turning 14 today.
How long do we have?
As long as he wants to
stick around.
Love you Jake,
miss you Blanca.

Sundays are for the dogs!

I hope you have had a pet like this,
one that just touches your heart.
Have a great attitude today.

Sundays are for those pets that we lost over the years.
Ms B you are still missed 4/24/14.
