Our aging friends

Do  your pets make your house a home? Do they add to the warmth on those cold rainy days? As I watch my Jake age, he is 14 years old, it causes me to pause and just be thankful for the days he gives back to the family. It is my responsibility to make sure his needs are fullfilled. It is also my responsibility to keep him from pain. I just hope that I am as good an owner as he is a puppy.
We lost our dear Blanca almost a year ago when she was 18. We still feel her presence in the house. Rarely a day goes by that we don't speak of her. I believed she loved us with her whole little heart. I hope she knows the love we had and still have for her.

Why

Every once in awhile the question is asked, why do you spend your time on this blog? I could answer this in many different ways. Quite simply people matter. I look at the blog as an investment in people. I understand many of the people that read this blog will never meet me. They may not even agree with me. It is funny there are people that get upset because I am a positive person, with an outgoing attitude. That just means I want to share happiness anyway that I can. Life has been good to me and if I can share something positive with any one individual unaware of all the cosmetic differences and put a smile on their face then it is well worth the time spent each week. All I would ask is that you share a good attitude. If your struggling don't go hide. Find someone to talk to. Human interaction will help you move forward. So for now I will continue to wish for you a great attitude today.
Say hi to Jake!

My Jake

My wife videoed Jake playing
in the snow yesterday.
It was a good reminder
for me. I have been working
7 days a week.
Writing, blogging, taking
additional education in
the evenings.
I have forgotten to have
some fun.
So in honnor of my dear
friend Jake, and
since today is
about the dog.
I am planning a
day off to play.
So thanks Jake.
Love ya man!

Jake

Jake has some great habits.
He knows when to eat.
When to go outside.
When it is time to get off the computer.
And when it is time to go to sleep.
I know many people that wish
they had that much discipline,
Thanks for showing the way Jake.
Have a great attitude today!

Sunday is for the dogs.

Just a reminder that today is for
remembering our loved pets.
This is Jake, 14 year old Boarder Collie.
He watches over the house every night.
Gentle heart, special puppy.
Thanks my friend for helping
keep our house safe at night.
Miss B.
We lost her last year,
but think of her each day.
Miss you girl.
Love your pop.
